Ideas and Concepts

Ok i'm not too sure which ideas did you guys went with.
This is the guy with the flashes. Not sure how to write it down or how you guys want me to post it but here goes...

Have you ever experience a flash of light that blinds your vision for a fraction of a second? In fact it happens so fast (micro seconds) that most of the time we don't really noticed it. And even when we do, we just dismiss it as nothing that to be bothered with. Well Alex is such a person. Overworked, underpaid, average citizen with a slightly above average intellect. Lately Alex noticed these flashes but just attributed it to fatigue. Long hours at the office, lack of sleep and such. The fact that the flashes only happen for fractions of a second, it is hardly ever a hindrance to his life, hence he ignores it.

Then the flashes seems to be getting regular and the interval getting shorter. So Alex went to seek medical consultation. Finding nothing wrong with Alex, the doctor just diagnose it as fatigue and prescribe him some pills.

Few days on and the flashes persisted. Until one day a strange event occurred. After a 'characteristic' flash while Alex was in the office, the world around him seem to freeze for a full 3 seconds. Thinking that he was hallucinating and might be losing it, he left work early.

The next day, while having lunch in a cafe, the flash happens. And again the world freezes. Like a still frame. Alex stood up amazed, seemingly the only moving entity in the still frame. For a while nothing moves. Then he caught a slight movement from the corner of his eye. He turned to look and saw a black shadowy figure moving, almost mechanically, through the frozen crowd outside. Alex moves closer for a clearly view. And just as the creature was about to float into Alex's clear line of sight, a sudden white flash blinds him and the world flows back to normal. The creature was gone.

  1. Alright I know that was damn long. Like I said, I don’t really know how to write it.
Anyways here is the main jizz of it.

-flashes happen and the world freezes and a second flash happen and everything is back to normal
-main character sees strange black creatures moving around while everything is frozen.
-initially idea is that these creatures are harvester and we are the harvest but Wilson said something bout it being the grim reaper and I kinda like that idea.
    - so the grim reapers move in a different plane than us and somehow the main character slip into this plane and view our world through the grim reapers world.

  2. Good idea. I would agree that the creatures being reapers. We need to give the "reapers" something more so that it would not be just a boring and predictable antagonist. Another thing is that we need to make the "frozen world" a little different. Like if the character flashes into this world, there would be some eerie feeling in the atmosphere. That's my input for now. Feel free to comment on it.

  3. Actually Rivand suggested that we drop the long windy intro and just go straight to the guy getting a flash maybe while he is walking down the street or something. Its kinda better though, straight to the point.

And i was thinking than maybe, initially the freeze world doesnt seem scary or eerie, in fact he is enjoying it. PLaying around with the frozen ppl. But when the reaper start to appear than the atmosphere changes. You kinda like Silent Hill the movie.
    Hahaha

    any other concepts, ideas??
